Micaela Aguirre was born in Houston, Texas and raised in the nearby countryside. She shared a love of drawing with her father, a civil engineer. A teacher recognized her talent when she was just 3 years old and told her parents to put her in art classes. She took art classes ever since and competed in several art competitions. Her interest in the arts led her to pursue her fine art studies at Laguna College of Art + Design in Laguna Beach, California. At LCAD, she discovered a love for plein air, landscape and figurative painting. Micaela is greatly influenced by nature. She brings her landscapes to life with her expressive brushstrokes, texture and strong use of color.
Micaela currently resides in Laguna Beach.
